FedEx® Is Raising Shipping Rates and Increasing Surcharges
November 5, 2018
|
On the heels of the recent USPS® postal rate change—that increased First-Class Mail stamps by a record 10%—is FedEx®, making rate changes of their own. FedEx is increasing the rates of two of their main services, FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery, by an average of 4.9%.
This incremental rate change, which can cumulatively add up to a lot for business, is not unexpected. The real surprise is to the increase of over thirty surcharges and fees, and they are worth taking a closer look at. For example, the additional handing surcharge on FedEx Ground and FedEx Express packages services are going up from $12 per packages to $13.50, and the oversize charge for Ground and Expresses services is going up $10 from $80 a package to $90 a package.
This rate change will go into effect January 7, 2019. You can find all the rate changes on the FedEx website. Stay tuned for when the FedEx Retail Rates and One Rate pricing changes are revealed by signing up for NeoNews
